EAPworks is a leading provider of Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) in New Zealand. Founded by Mark Sames and Julie Crawley, we are a network of EAP practitioners, counsellors, psychologists and other relevant providers, operating throughout New Zealand.

We have a passion for assisting people to gain the maximum opportunities from a changing work environment. ​We believe healthy and resilient people are the key to a productive, positive workplace.
Our vision is to provide a range of professional services that promote positive work communities, and we seek to:​

JONATHAN DIXON
MANAGING DIRECTOR

Jonathan first joined EAPWorks in 2017, bringing with him several years leadership experience, steering businesses to success across Australia and New Zealand.   
 
Earlier in his career, Jonathan provided coaching and mentoring in both the private and corporate sectors in New Zealand and Australia, became a frequent speaker on mental health and wellbeing issues facing New Zealanders, and worked with all levels of management, facilitating positive change for individuals and organisations.
 
Jonathan is a strong advocate for healthy workplace culture, seeking to bring the best out in others, committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders, and passionate about helping people thrive.
 
Jonathan has spent several years working and living overseas, but now resides in Canterbury where he lives with his wife Nadine and three teenage children. 

JORDAN SMITH
NATIONAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

With more than 20 years experience teaching, training and facilitating wellbeing and personal programmes with audiences throughout New Zealand, Jordan is a highly effective communicator with a natural ability to capture an audience and keep them engaged to embed key learnings. 

Facilitating wellbeing training programmes and working with Human Resources and Senior Management teams, Jordan has a view of a broad range of workplaces in New Zealand.

nadine dixon
NATIONAL service MANAGER

Having worked in senior management in both the private and corporate sectors for over 15 years, Nadine has extensive experience building and fostering personal resilience in staff, and developing wellbeing strategies to benefit individuals, teams and organisations. With her professional and empathetic approach, Nadine delivers quality therapeutic support in any situation. Trained in Critical Incident, Suicide Triage and Risk Management, Nadine is an experienced facilitator and trainer. She is passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, and providing practical solutions to help build resilience and foster positive workplace environments.
 
Personally, Nadine lives in Canterbury with her husband, Jonathan, and their three teenage children. 

Julie sames (formerly crawley)
wellbeing manager

Julie has had more than 30 years in the EAP industry in senior roles and is a former director of EAPworks for 22 years. She qualified as a teacher before becoming an Employee Assistance consultant, working in local government and private organisations with both management and staff.

Julie is a facilitator, an accredited clinical supervisor, and is trained in critical incident management. She is a qualified career counsellor who is highly skilled in providing individual and group sessions of career planning and outplacement, and is also qualified in the use of Myers-Briggs Temperament Inventory.

Julie is a professional member of the Career Development Association of New Zealand, CISMFA Association of New Zealand, and the Employee Assistance Professional Association of Australasia.

In her personal life, Julie has three adult children and enjoys being an independent professional supervisor and celebrant, officiating at weddings, funerals and workplace ceremonies.

david sanders
wellbeing manager

David began work with EAPworks in 2019. He has over 34 years of experience in the mental health sector, working with clients from the public, to the corporate sector. He has worked in trauma, depression, suicide, gender issues, sexual dysfunction and addictions, and Critical Incident support.

He worked in his own private practice for many years and during this time was the supervisor for the Whangaparaoa Hospice, and critical incident contact for Mobil. He is also an educator and supervisor.
